Mechanical properties (C45E standard condition)
Mechanical parameters depend on the nominal rod diameter (Ø).
  1. 01Chrome-plated steel rods made from C45E grade steel with f7 dimensional tolerance are a reliable and economical solution for linear-motion systems. They are mainly used as piston rods for hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, shock absorbers, and gas springs.
  2. 02The main advantages of this specific version are:
  3. 03Easy machining and welding
  4. 04C45E base material: this medium-carbon steel is distinguished by excellent machinability. Turning, drilling, and threading can be performed easily without special tools.
  5. 05Good weldability: unlike high-carbon or heavily alloyed steels, C45E can be welded simply and reliably using standard methods.
  6. 06High precision and smooth operation
  7. 07ISO f7 tolerance: the f7 class ensures maximum dimensional precision. It creates an ideal sliding fit in hydraulic systems, preventing oil leakage or mechanism jamming.
  8. 08Low-friction surface: the rod has a micro-smooth surface, significantly reducing friction against seals and protecting them from premature wear.
  9. 09Wear resistance and corrosion protection
  10. 10Hard chrome layer: the chrome coating has a microhardness of at least 850-900 HV0.1. This surface acts as a hard shield against abrasive particles, dust, and dirt.
  11. 11Standard anti-corrosion protection: intended for normal indoor environments. The chrome layer reliably protects the rod against rust under standard humidity conditions.
  12. 12Oil retention: the microstructure of the chrome surface retains a thin oil film well, ensuring continuous lubrication during operation.
